Sermorelin (GRF 1-29 NH₂) is a synthetic 29-amino acid amide corresponding to the biologically active N-terminal fragment of human growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It is the shortest GHRH fragment retaining full in vivo GH-releasing potency, binding selectively to the GHRH receptor (GHRHR) on pituitary somatotroph cells.
Research Applications:
- GHRHR binding kinetics and receptor pharmacology
- Pulsatile GH secretion and somatotroph physiology
- Pituitary function assessment in animal models
- IGF-1 axis and growth regulation research
- Sleep architecture studies (GH-SWS relationship)
